About this speaker

My name is TD Storm. I live in Madison, Wisconsin with my wife and two children.

I’ve taught writing and literature since 1999, first at high school and then through the University of Wisconsin. I now run Storm Writing School on my own, where I offer editing, coaching, and classes, mostly geared toward how to create momentum and emotional resonance in storytelling. I shun one-size-fits-all solutions, and I like to pull the curtain back on popular writing advice.

I write short stories and essays, with work at Literary Hub, Copper Nickel, and Black Warrior Review. I’ve been a finalist in several short story contests, and I won the Reynolds Price Short Fiction Award.
