Maryrose Wood is the author of The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place, the acclaimed children's books featuring a teenaged governess and three children raised by wolves, published by HarperCollins Children's Books. Titles in this six-book series have been Junior Library Guild selections and received starred reviews from Publisher's Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, School Library Journal, and Booklist. They've made it onto Best Children's Books of the Year lists from NPR, Christian Science Monitor, and others, and are published in translation worldwide. She also wrote Alice's Farm: A Rabbit's Tale, also a JLG selection and a Charlotte Huck Award Recommended Book. The New York Times called this tale of an exceptional wild rabbit who teams up with her natural predators, a dog, and a homesick Brooklyn boy to save their shared farmland home "delightful and quirky and full of good will... necessary for some kids right now." Her next middle grade book is Bad Badger, coming in February 2025 from Union Square Kids.
In 2019, Maryrose founded Path of the Storyteller, where she trains and mentors writers who want to write at a professional level. A long-time New Yorker and sometime Californian, Maryrose now lives, writes, and teaches in southern Italy. Learn more at www.pathofthestoryteller.com.
